Pablo Solares

Pablo is the Director of Fondo Adelante, Mission Economic Development Agency’s CDFI. He joined Fondo Adelante in 2019 and has played the role of a Business Lending Manager and Associate Director of Lending and Innovation, before being appointed as the Director in August 2022. Pablo had an instrumental role during the COVID-19 pandemic when Fondo Adelante grew its portfolio 6x in less than 2 years, after deploying over $10M in emergency loans in San Francisco, Marin, Santa Cruz, and Monterey Counties. Similarly, he guided the team with partnerships that resulted in packaging an additional $7M+ in PPPs loans, and other local, State, and Federal grants for minority owned businesses.

Prior to joining Fondo Adelante, Pablo had an investment banking practice focused on raising private capital for technology startups based in Latin America and other emerging markets. He has a Masters in Finance from EGADE Business School campus Monterrey; a B.A. with triple major in Economics, Business and Visual Arts; and has passed FINRA registration exams Series 6, 7, and 79.

Pablo is originally from Mexico City, moved to the US in 1999, and has permanently resided in San Francisco since 2018. He has experience in community development finance, small business lending, and investment banking.
