As a small farmer or rancher, you already know how critical strong business skills are to your success – and maybe you have already discovered how difficult it is to find classes that are relevant to agricultural operations your size. The FarmLink Business Skills Camp is specifically designed for family-scale operations in business for at least a few years and looking to take their financial management skills to the next level. If you have reached a point in your business where you see the need to work smarter, not harder, and develop business systems that will support you for the long-haul, this program is for you.
This course will give you a framework for structuring your farm or ranch business to limit personal liability and income taxes, and provide you with take-home tools to clean up your accounting system and track costs efficiently. We will also provide an overall framework for planning your continued learning and ongoing business skills development.
Join us for the FarmLink Business Skills Camp. It is a four-part course happening in Sacramento on October 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 3 – 7pm (including dinners) at a cost of $80 for all four sessions. The course instructors are Poppy Davis and Alan Haight. Poppy is a former CPA with a law degree who specializes in business training for small farmers and ranchers. Alan successfully established a diverse ten-acre farm in Nevada County in 2001 and recently transitioned farm operations to a beginning farmer. Join us at camp, or help us spread the word. Thanks!
