Santa Clara #5326

Listing ID: Santa Clara #5326

Description:

The Nest Box is a small biodiverse farm located in San Martin, California. Established in 2018, the farm is young, but with close proximity to multiple city markets (Gilroy, Morgan Hill San Jose), its potential is limitless. The farm is currently home to 4 goats, 4 Southdown Babydoll sheep, approximately 200 chickens, a duck, 2 active beehives, and our newest arrival – a Jersey/Guernsey cow. In our garden, we grow tomatoes, potatoes, tomatillos, onion, sunflowers, maize, zucchini, and the list goes on! In our orchard, we have young cherry, peach, nectarine, orange and pomegranate trees (plus a few miscellaneous others!).
While we are not presently certified, The Nest Box operates its farm organically and biodynamically. Our goal is to mimic nature wherever possible. The Nest Box is currently owned by a husband and wife team. However, both have full-time off farm jobs, and the farm is truly the wife’s passion. Therefore, The Nest Box is in search of a farm business partner with equal passion in farming to help turn it into a fully sustainable and profitable biodynamic working farm open to the public.
