Business Skills Advisor, Consultant

“Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you’re a thousand miles from the cornfield.”

Winona is a business skills advisor, with a focus on social justice, who helps deliver on FarmLink’s educational programs. She comes to agriculture through familial ties from her great uncle Ed Scott who manually dug and operated the first Black-owned catfish farm. The family lost and then recovered much of its farmland through a settlement of the Pigford class action lawsuit against the USDA.
